Warning: Mom, this post will make you cry.
There are some songs that I am looking forward to singing to the baby. Here are some of my favorites.
Baby Mine: I have always loved this song since Dumbo, but the version Bette Midler did from Beaches is the best.
All the Pretty Horses
Turn Around: I remember listening to this song in the car with my mom and it always made her cry. Let's be honest, a lot of things make her cry, but now I understand. This version is sung by Danny Kaye and it is wonderful.
Edelweiss: My grandfather used to sing this a lot. I see his face every time I hear it. This is a lovely version sung live by John Denver and Julie Andrews. Their voices are perfect together.
I have yet to sing to the baby, but I think I will start today. Right after I stop crying.
What songs were sung to you as a child?
I still remember a car trip to Florida with my grandmother singing " how much is that doggy in the window" to me. She and I were driving one car and my mom and sis were in' another. We must have sung that song 50 times, and I'm sure she was sick of it, but it was a great day and one of my favorite memories of time spent with her. Oh, now I'm crying! ;)
